Team Cherry Teaching Assistant
Mrs Shields began her journey at Stanley Crook Primary School in 1999 as a parent helper having two children who attended the school. Loving her time spent in school, she went on to gain a CACHE level 3 Diploma from Bishop Auckland College. Her Teaching Assistant career started in EYFS where she stayed for 15 years. During that time, Mrs Shields led a range of support programmes including Speech and Language Link and Getting Along. Mrs Shields then took the challenge of moving into KS1 where she delivers programmes Zippy’s Friends, Relax Kids, Fundamental Movement and No Nonsense Spelling. Mrs Shields is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils in Team Cherry and supporting teaching and learning in a positive, caring and fun setting. Mrs Shields also works as Website Coordinator helping to design and maintain our school website.
Last year (2023 Mrs Shields completed her HLTA qualification.
Out of school Mrs Shields loves spending time with her family, horses and dogs.
