I am Catherine Lawes, a Community Governor and I am the Chair of the governing body. I am a retired primary school teacher and, while I live in Crook, I have connections with Stanley Crook through my work (alongside my husband, the Rev. Geoff Lawes) in St. Thomas’ Church.
Being a governor is a great way to continue my interest in education and it is a privilege to be associated in this way with Stanley Crook Primary. It is such a welcoming school and one where excellence can be found not just in the education provided but in all aspects of school life.
I take an active role in English and Safeguarding monitoring in school.
