Governance Update

Following the resignation of our Chair of Governors, Mr Carroll, at the end of the school year in July, Governors have today elected a new Chair of the school governing body. I would like to extend my congratulations, as well as the congratulations of our school community, to Mrs Catherine Lawes on   becoming the new Chair and Mr Ben Hayman on becoming our new Vice Chair. I, along with staff, pupils and parents, will look forward to working closely with our new Chair and Vice Chair as we all look to drive forward further school improvement in the future.

Following a lifetime of public service—including an incredible 30 years as Chair of Governors at Stanley Crook Primary School, pupils and staff will be holding a special celebration assembly for Mr Carroll on Friday 22nd November. A book, within which parents, staff and pupils will be able to leave their own messages and well-wishes for Mr Carroll will be available in the school reception area from next week. On behalf of everyone associated with our school—past and present—I would like to thank Mr Carroll for his selfless and committed service to our school over such a long period, and for his efforts in securing the future of Stanley Crook Primary School for many future generations. We wish him and his family well for the future.
