Welcome Back to School!

Dear Parents/ Carers and children,

I hope that you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer! Whatever you have been up to and wherever you have been, I hope that there has been time for lots of fun with family and friends.

The staff and I are all looking forward to welcoming you back to school on Tuesday 6th September. In particular, we are very excited to welcome our new reception children to school for the start of their time with us at Stanley Crook Primary School! I am sure that all of the children will be absolute superstars this year!

A reminder that, following the publication of the government white paper last academic year, the school day will be extending this year – beginning on Tuesday 6th September. The school day will be 8:45am – 3:15pm for ALL children. We ask that children are on the school yard at least 5 minutes before the start of school so that they are ready to join their Team lines and enter school for the start of the day at 8:45am.

Mr Teasdale and Team Donaldson staff will be on the yard a little earlier on Tuesday to welcome our new reception children and their families for their first day at school!

Breakfast Club will begin on Tuesday at 8:00am for those children who have been pre-booked a place. Thank you again to parents/ carers for their support with the move to pre-booking for breakfast club during the summer term last year, and for pre-booking their children into breakfast club for the Autumn term, before school finished for the summer break. Please remember that children must be accompanied to the breakfast club entrance and ‘signed in’ by a responsible adult.

Multi Skills Club (Tuesdays) and Spanish Club (Wednesdays) after-school clubs will begin next week, with Yoga Club (Mondays) beginning on 12th September and Martial Arts Club (Thursdays) beginning on 29th September. Thank you to parents/ carers for pre-booking their children onto these after-school clubs. Some spaces for some clubs are still available. For more information, please contact the school office on Tuesday (01388762858), or drop us a message on School Office on Class Dojo. After-school clubs operate from 3:15pm until 4:15pm.

Miss Mason and Mrs Vasey will be beginning their Discovery Club (Wraparound) provision on Tuesday, which operates until 5:30pm Monday-Friday. Again, please contact the school office on Tuesday (or message School Office on Class Dojo) for information on how to book your child(ren) a place in this provision.

There will be much to look forward to this academic year and we all cannot wait to get started!

**COST OF LIVING CRISIS**
I am aware of the worry, stress and anxiety the current cost of living crisis will be causing many families in our school and local community. The rising cost of food and fuel, along with soaring energy costs will be placing many of our families under extreme pressure. During the summer break, I have been liaising with several agencies and charities to explore ways in which school can establish links in order that we may support families who may be under financial and emotional stress as a result of pressures caused by the cost of living crisis. I will provide more information shortly after the beginning of term next week with advice and guidance on support which may be available. As with during the COVID-19 crisis, school will do all it can to support families through this current crisis.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday for the start of the new academic year!

Mr C.
